What about the Middle East?

Dear readers of this blog may have by now been wondering, “This is a blog on prophecy yet it says nothing about the middle east”. Well, to be honest, I’ve been praying over where to start! There is SO much! I didn’t know whether to make assumptions about what my readers may already know, or to assume that they know nothing. So, allow this post to bypass all that. I will begin by including the middle east news in my frequent “In the News” posts. If I feel led to comment further on a particular event, I will do so. Sound good?

The middle east, particularly Israel, is central in last days prophecy. In fact, it is how we gauge current events in light of prophecy. I apologize for not having mentioned it earlier. Lord willing, tomorrow’s “In the News” will rectify this.

Hymnal Monday

Welcome to the first Hymnal Monday! I attend a small country church, where we still sing the old beloved hymnals….without music, I might add. I just love these old hymns and would like to share these with you each week. The first is a well-known hymn, “When Peace Like a River”. The lyrics in the video are a bit different from what I am accustomed to, but beautiful all the same. The final verse, in both versions, makes me cry every time! Enjoy!

Here are the lyrics I was raised on (remember, the last verse makes me cry to even read them):
