Former NY Times writer ridiculed for being a creationist

She went about her decision in a logical, well-reasoned way: she studied opposing views and formed her own conclusion.  What a shame we are expected to tolerate the intolerant.

Here’s a quote from one of her ridiculers:

In a withering critique of Heffernan’s arguments, however, Gawker writer Hamilton Nolan noted: “We are not saying you’re a bad person, Virginia, but you should probably expect that, from now on, when people read your musings on, say, the future of internet communications, they might stop, in a moment of gathering doubt, and recall that you are a science-phobic angel-believing climate change skeptic, and that therefore your dedication to facts is somewhat in question.”
“This could, and should, erode your credibility, in the eyes of those elitist readers who value things that are based on ‘evidence.’ So kudos to you for being brave enough to admit to your own hilarious prejudices again common sense,” he added.

Common sense?  Only a dope blinded by satan would say evolution/big bang/whatever is supported by evidence. Yes, I called him and others like him a dope.

Synonyms for dope: Informal.   One deficient in judgment and good sense: ass, fool, idiot, imbecile, jackass, mooncalf, moron, nincompoop, ninny, nitwit, simple, simpleton, softhead, tomfool

“But where is your Christian tolerance and love?”, you may ask. I have none for those who make a career out of deliberately blaspheming and flipping the Great I AM the finger. I am referring to the hard-hearted reprobates among the ignorant educated.  The elitists of academia and thought who cling to a false worldview despite real evidence to the contrary. These are people in professions that boast unbiased analytical thought and reasoning yet condemn one of their own who actually practices it!

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools……..28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; Romans 1
