Called Out of Babylon
The mystical idolatrous worship of Babylon became almost universal. The Bible says:
Jer 51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
The wine of Babylon is her mystical teachings about God that confuse the mind as if it were drunk. These teachings destroy families, cut the Heavenly Father’s blessing, create a deep sense of worthlessness, anger, insecurity and the desperate need for power.
The influence of Babylon was to turn nomadic family based tribes into territorially based states defended by armies. Small villages turned into larger walled cities for easier defense.
