Back to square one?

6 1/2 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with mental retardation,  unspecified.  Yes, they said MR. Anyway, the specialists said she is NOT autistic and guesstimated her IQ to be around 55.

The past few weeks we’ve been taking her to the adolescent medicine department at the University of Kentucky, to get to the bottom of her behavior issues. She will be 13 in November.  She met with the psychologist today who wants to retest her for autism and administer a nonverbal IQ test. She is verbal, she just doesn’t answer most questions.

So, it appears we are back to square one.  That’s ok. It has been a long and difficult journey and I’m glad we have finally been connected with competent specialists who actually want to help.

  1. She is beautiful!
Marcia, Jesus is square one. Not doctors (said by a doctor by the grace of God). Jesus never referred anyone to a physician, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We westerners are so encumbered with worldly strongholds when it comes to God’s word regarding the cause of disease and on healing.
In love I continue pointing you to the Bible study Looking Into God’s Word on the Cause and Eradication of Disease – He will speak to you as you study His word on the matter.
    Love in Christ, me
