WILKESBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — An earthquake shook parts of North Carolina near the Virginia border in Wilkes County on Saturday night.
The 2.4 magnitude quake hit around 9:50 p.m. and was at a depth of 5.1 kilometers, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake on Saturday night happened just two days after 1.9 magnitude earthquake struck Thursday at Plumtree, N.C. in Avery County — about 60 miles west of the Saturday quake.
