Designated Survivor

I do not watch television regularly, not even the news. We once had Dish Network, but cancelled it because Hubs was the only one watching it and he decided it wasn’t worth the $90 plus he was paying. Yesterday I watched about 3/4ths of a Brady Bunch episode on MeTV. That was the first time I sat down in front of the tv in I don’t know how long.

It wasn’t always like this. I was once a manager of a Blockbuster Video store, ha ha! I watched every movie released each week, even the foreign films. I watched tv. During those days, I LOVED the series 24, with Kiefer Sutherland. In fact, if 24 were to return to prime time I would abandon my television “boycott” and watch it.

Well it doesn’t look like 24 will be returning anytime soon, but Kiefer is! September 21 will air his new political drama on ABC, Designated Survivor. Now, one of the reasons I don’t watch much tv and very few movies is because my eyes have been opened to the globalist propaganda and esoteric symbolism that is so prevalent in modern cinema. Gone are the days of just watching a movie for pure enjoyment.

No doubt Designated Survivor will be filled with such symbolism and predictive programming, but I’ll at least give the pilot a chance.

Have you heard anything about this new series? Will you watch it?

  1. I’m not recommending it per se. I was just basically journaling. Since it has not yet aired, I don’t know if I will even like it. If a reader knows more about it, I’d love to hear it. Sometimes I just type what’s bouncing around in my head at the moment, like a public journal/diary.

  2. I am like you, don’t watch much t.v. But that sounds like the kind of show my husband and my son like to watch. Some people who come to my blog, find their way there via their interest in the more serious stuff and operate primarily in analytical mode, so that they may have some difficulty with a shift to lighter fare. I didn’t think it sounded like a recommendation. Of course, I k now ya, lol. 😉 Not too long ago, I had left a comment somewhere, maybe a response to someone else’s comment on my blog, in which I said “Pokemon is plain evil, EVIL I SAY!!”. My nephew, a gamer, was a little put off when he saw it, thought it was a bit extreme. I laughed when he said that because even as I warn about the potential dangers of stuff like that, for the associations and esoteric thought that often underlies it, I also know that even the people who create games like that (same for album covers, even on “Christian soundtracks”) are often not even aware of where the inspiration is actually coming from. In other words, not meant for evil by the human creative minds, but by the devil himself, whom they don’t know is their father. I was actually being facetious in using the hyperbole on that comment, if I remember correctly, and it was one of those unguarded times when I just typed off a response and hit enter, without any mulling over, or censoring, or concern for how it might come across. Is Pokemon going to be the cause of someone going to hell? I doubt it. Do I make light of the occult/New Age flavor that permeates the gaming culture? My blog speaks for itself on that. It was just an off-the-cuff remark. I didn’t premeditate it to be sarcastic or flippant, but was actually just kind of “over” the topic altogether. Thought the conclusion might circumscribe the whole narrative and we could all move on and maybe get over ourselves.
