May We Teach Our Sons to be Fathers of Integrity

May we teach our sons to be fathers of integrity:
To keep in the Word, so he may discern Truth;
To honor the Lord with his life.
May we teach him to cherish his wife as Christ loves His bride, the church;
May he be her protector, shielding her from physical, emotional and spiritual harm.
May he wash her in the Word, cleansing every blemish and presenting her as a spotless jewel.
May he honor and respect her as his gift from the Creator.
May he reclaim his rightful, God-given, role as leader of the home-stolen from him by society not too long ago.
May he be a father of integrity, teaching and leading his children to the Heavenly Father.
May he dispel from his home all that which is dishonorable, sinful and displeasing to the Creator of families.
May he appreciate the value of hard work and diligence.
May he lift his strong arms in labor, providing for his family, with joy and skill-never complaining- acknowledging all comes from the Father.
May he bow his head in humble gratitude to the Same.
May he lead in humble service, while being careful to not compromise the Word.
May he deal patiently and lovingly with his household, in wisdom dispensing grace and proper training as his heavenly Father does with him.
May he always remember his accountability to the Great I Am.
May he walk among the community as a man to be trusted.
May his word be all that is necessary.
May he be known as one reliable, honest and steadfast.
May the Light of Christ shine brightly, so that even those who do not know God, see God in him.
May mothers teach our sons to be Godly men by honoring his father to bring glory to the Heavenly Father.
May fathers teach our sons to honor the Lord and stand fast in His Word, clinging to wisdom and virtue rather than selfish gain.
May we teach our sons to be fathers of integrity and Truth.
Happy Father’s Day 2013
In respectful recognition of the daddy of my children, Joey Settles my husband; and my own dad, Frank Preston, who raised me to know the Lord.
