Not what I wanted to see

Got up at Dawn to pick beans and found the fish pond like this…..

The fountain had tipped over and drained out the water. Here’s praying the fish do not die.

On a happier note, a friend gave us some cucumbers and I was able to can 4 quarts of dill pickles.

There is now a shortage of canning supplies. I was thankful to find 24 jars with lids. I have jars already but no one has lids and Amazon is price gouging. Hopefully I will be able to locate some by the time we do a second picking of beans.

Ah, Glorious Spring

Our fish pond is coming along. I think we may be done, other than we still need to add fish. The fake flower markers are where we submerged water lilies that will hopefully come up soon.

We also planted some roses, a gardenia and a honeysuckle close-by. Oh how lovely it will smell!

My mom gave me this sunflower for Mother’s Day. FYI, that is a storage building that is chipping paint in the background, not our house. 😘

Judging by the long lines at Lowes, we ascertained the entire community had the same plans for this lovely Saturday! Have you begun your spring planting yet?

Planting Rose Stems & Vlog

A note about planting the rose cuttings: This is my first attempt. Some leave on the leaves, others do not. Some dip the end in root hormone, others do not. I don’t have any, so I did not. I realized after planting that I forgot to “shave” off the end, so you will see in the video where I went back to do that. This is to encourage root growth. Here’s praying they take root and we get a couple strong plants. If you know of a sure fire way to do this, drop me a comment.

Go, be a blessing. MARANATHA!
